TREATING DIARRHEA Feed boiled chicken, shredded (NO SKIN) mixed in with plain rice. feed VERY small amounts 6 or so times a day, a couple tablespoons each time. Just enough so she won't throw it up. If she does throw up, cut her back. You can also try a boiled egg mashed with rice. Right now you want to keep the food very bland, with no fat/ grease or olive oil to upset her tummy. You can also boil extra lean hamburger skimming off all fat and liquid and mixing it with rice. Freeze the liquid from the chicken or ground beef and you can add it to their food when they are better. For variety, you can also feed plain pasta instead of rice. Keep in mind the rice/ pasta might constipate the dog. Don't worry, this too shall pass DO NOT FEED ANY COOKIES OR TREATS AT THIS TIME. She will lose weight but don't worry. You can get the fat back when she is better.... Make sure lots of fresh water is available. Change the water many times during the day. *** In fact a better idea instead of water is buy some UNFLAVORED pedialite for babies from your pharmacy or grocery store (in the baby section). It's full of electrolytes that the dog will need due to losing them through vomiting and diarrhea.
